WoodArcade

Legal

Last updated: May 4, 2026

This page contains the legal documents that apply to WoodArcade ("the App"). Use the links below to jump to a specific section.

Privacy Policy

Effective May 4, 2026.

WoodArcade does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. All gameplay data, settings, and high scores stay on your device. This section describes that in detail.

What We Don't Do

WoodArcade does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, location, calendar, or health data. The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking libraries. We do not transmit any personally identifiable information to any server. There is no account, no sign-in, no cookies, no fingerprinting, and no cross-app or cross-website tracking.

What Is Stored Locally

The App writes the following to your device only, inside the iOS sandboxed Documents directory of the App:

  • High scores — your best results, displayed inside the App. Stored at Documents/ArcadeData/highscores.json.
  • Settings — theme, sound, haptics, and music preferences. Stored at Documents/ArcadeData/settings.json.
  • Saved sessions — to resume an interrupted game for up to seven days. Stored at Documents/ArcadeData/session_tetris.json and session_snake.json.

These files are private to the App and are removed automatically when you uninstall the App from your device.

What Data Leaves Your Device

None. WoodArcade contains no networking code, makes no HTTP requests, and bundles no cloud SDK. The App functions identically with no internet connection — you can verify this by enabling Airplane Mode and continuing to play.

Children's Privacy (COPPA / Apple 4+)

WoodArcade is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. Because no data is collected, no special handling for children's information is required, and the App complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's "Made for Kids" guidelines.

Apple's Required-Reasons APIs

iOS apps must declare a reason for using certain APIs. WoodArcade currently uses none of the APIs listed in Apple's Required Reasons API table. The bundled PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy manifest declares:

  • NSPrivacyTracking: false
  • NSPrivacyTrackingDomains: empty
  • NSPrivacyCollectedDataTypes: empty
  • NSPrivacyAccessedAPITypes: empty

Third-Party Services

WoodArcade uses no third-party services, libraries, or SDKs. The App is built only on Apple's first-party frameworks: SwiftUI, AVFoundation, UIKit, Foundation, QuartzCore, and Combine.

Permissions

The App may use iOS-native haptic feedback (UIImpactFeedbackGenerator) and audio output (AVAudioPlayer). These do not require explicit user permission prompts. No prompted permissions (camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location, etc.) are ever requested.

Your Choices

  • Disable sound: Settings → toggle Sound off.
  • Disable haptics: Settings → toggle Haptics off.
  • Erase your local data: Settings → "Clear High Scores", or simply uninstall the App.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change what data the App handles, this document and the in-app Privacy screen will be updated and the change will be noted in release notes. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the App after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Terms and Conditions

Effective May 4, 2026.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the WoodArcade mobile application ("the App"). By installing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

1. License Grant

The App is licensed, not sold, to you for personal, non-commercial use on Apple devices that you own or control. The license is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable. You may install and use the App on any compatible Apple device associated with your Apple ID, subject to the App Store Terms of Service.

2. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or redistribute the App.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
  • Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App.
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels in the App.
  • Use the App in any way that violates applicable law, infringes on the rights of others, or interferes with the security or functionality of any device or service.

3. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, copyrights, code, graphics, sounds, themes, and other intellectual property rights in the App are owned by the developer. The "Tetris" name and the gameplay mechanics of falling blocks and snake-style movement are publicly available concepts; this App's specific implementation, themes (Classic, Modern Minimal, Neon Arcade, and Wooden Figurines), assets, and source code are protected.

4. No Warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. The developer does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free, nor that defects will be corrected or that the App is free of viruses or other harmful components.

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. The total liability of the developer to you for all claims related to the App shall not exceed the amount, if any, that you paid to acquire the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

6. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by the Privacy Policy above, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The App does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.

7. Children's Use

The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for users of all ages. Because no personal information is collected, COPPA compliance is automatic. Parents are encouraged to supervise their children's use of any application; however, the developer does not collect data about any user, regardless of age.

8. Termination

You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the App from your device. The developer may discontinue the App, suspend access, or terminate these Terms at any time, with or without notice, for any reason permitted by law. Sections 3, 4, 5, and 9 survive any termination.

9. Apple App Store Provisions

You acknowledge that these Terms are concluded between you and the developer only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). The developer, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.

In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) of the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be the developer's sole responsibility.

The developer, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App, including but not limited to product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.

You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

10. Open Source and Third-Party Components

WoodArcade uses only Apple's first-party frameworks. It includes no third-party libraries, SDKs, or services. Sound effects bundled with the App are synthesised programmatically and contain no copyrighted samples.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction, except as required by mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.

12. Changes to These Terms

The developer may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through release notes or in-app notification, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the App after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the developer regarding the App, and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings.
