Which name servers to set at your registrar

Domains and DNS1 min read

For our hosting, use ns10.hosting-telecom.uk and ns11.hosting-telecom.uk. Where to set them and how long to wait.

Contents

If your website or email is hosted with us, your domain needs to use our name servers:

ns10.hosting-telecom.uk
ns11.hosting-telecom.uk

Where to set them

  • The domain is registered with us — in your control panel, open the domain’s settings, choose to change the name servers and switch to ours.
  • The domain is registered with another registrar — in that registrar’s control panel, in the domain’s name server (NS) settings.

How long to wait

New name servers don’t take effect immediately: usually within a few hours, sometimes up to 24–48 hours. During this time some visitors may still reach the old server — this is normal.

How to change domain records: A, MX, TXT

Name servers determine where a domain’s records are kept. For a domain on our hosting, you change the records themselves in cPanel, in the zone editor — see DNS records in cPanel. If the domain is registered with us and has no hosting, you change the records in your control panel: open the domain’s DNS settings and add a record.

If your site is built with a website builder such as Wix, see A domain for a website-builder site.

How to check

A domain lookup shows which name servers a domain currently uses. If your website or email still doesn’t work, see DNS troubleshooting.
