How to get deleted files or a database back from our backup, and how to save your own copy before making big changes.
Contents
We back up our hosting every day. If you have deleted something by accident, or your website broke after an update, contact our support team through the contact form. We will restore the files, the database or the email. Tell us exactly what you need back and from which date.
Your own backup
Before big changes — a CMS update, a new theme, a move — save a copy yourself as well. That way you can roll back on your own, at any time.
- Files. cPanel → File Manager → select the
public_htmldirectory → Compress. This creates an archive — download it. - Database. phpMyAdmin → select the database → Export. For details, see MySQL databases in cPanel.
- Everything at once. If your cPanel has a Backup section, you can download all your files in a single archive there, and the databases and email settings separately.
It is best to keep the copy somewhere other than your hosting: download it to your computer or to cloud storage.
On cloud servers, snapshots are useful before risky changes — Rebooting, reinstalling and snapshots of a server.
