How to change your hosting plan

Move to a higher or lower plan without migrating your sites: how the paid period is recalculated and what to do if your sites don’t fit the new plan.

Contents

You can change your hosting plan in your control panel — to a larger plan if your sites need more room, or to a smaller one if you have space to spare. Your account, sites, email and databases stay where they are: only the limits and the price change.

How to change your plan

In your control panel, open the hosting section, open the menu on your hosting account and choose “Change plan”. Choose the new plan — on the right you will see how the paid period will change — and confirm. The plan and limits change straight away.

Changing your plan neither charges nor refunds any money: the rest of your paid period is converted into days at the price of the new plan. If the new plan costs more, the remaining credit covers fewer days; if it costs less, it covers more. The change page shows what is left on your current plan, how many days that will cover on the new plan, and the new “paid until” date. After that, the service renews at the price of the new plan.

If your sites don’t fit

Before the change, the control panel compares your disk usage, MySQL databases, mailboxes and subdomains with the limits of the new plan. If something doesn’t fit, you will see a table of what exceeds the limits, with suggestions on what to delete — for example, old backups and logs in cPanel: Files → Disk Usage. You can change plan once everything fits.

If there is no “Change plan” option

The option appears when you can make the change yourself: your hosting is active and paid for, there is a plan to move to, and at least 30 days have passed since your last change. If the paid period has ended, pay for your current plan first.

Otherwise, contact our support team through the contact form and we will change the plan for you.
